Kate McIver skin loves to celebrate and support high achieving businesses ran by women. One amazing woman-run brand, we stumbled upon and would like to give credit to is CODE Beautiful, set up by sisters, Sarah and Emma Cross. CODE Beautiful is a British, cruelty- free makeup company that was started in Manchester in 2014 and sets out to create world-leading beauty essentials. Sarah outlines her own success and showcases her talent of being a successful woman and discusses her company’s journey which is similar to our company and hence why we resonate so much with CODE Beautiful.
Sarah writes:
“Being a strong woman means keeping it real, turning your thoughts into things and of course empowering others. Growing a niche brand like CODE Beautiful with my own cash and going against corporates who spend millions on advertising is a constant challenge, but resilience, self-belief and amazing inner circle has allowed me to fulfil my dreams and hopefully inspire others to do the same.”
CODE Beautiful is dedicated to creating cruelty-free & vegan makeup and was Beauty Shortlist Awards winner for 2019. Sarah has dedicated her time to refine and focus on the formula of the company’s products to ensure that they perform to the best of their ability and as a result, has created four hero products, that their customers swear by.
CODE Beautiful’s Lip liner, Lip Plumping Treatment and, Volumising Lengthening Mascara are 100% vegan and their Pre-Mascara Lash Plumper, CODE FFL will be vegan certified by the end of 2019.
Vegan products are becoming extremely more popular within the beauty industry due to their cruelty-free ways of testing, meaning the products are not tested on animals, and the products contain fewer harsh chemicals within their formula.
Kate McIver Skin and CODE Beautiful are teaming up together to provide a competition for a lucky winner to win all four products from the CODE Beautiful range and the winner will also receive Kate McIver Skin’s 30ml Limited edition Serum and a 30ml Original edition Serum. This competition will be on our Instagram on the 30th with how to apply to win. We will run this on Facebook and Instagram… both brands to provide 2 sets of products.

Due to Kate's devastating passing, we decided to hold a candlelight vigil to show our respect and love for Kate.
We would like to thank every single individual who lit a candle all over the world in remembrance of our beautiful angel Kate and for every other individual taken too soon by cancer.
The heartbreaking reality was that Kate's new candle had arrived Friday and she passed Saturday..
It was so overwhelming to realise how many people have been touched by Kate's story, her message has literally reached the other end of the world, people were lighting candles in: Japan, USA, Australia and New Zealand to name but a few countries.
Her family were so touched, and the Instagram message below shows how moved they were by all of the online support for Kate.
Kate's family wrote "On behalf of the McIver family that I am so privileged to be part of, an important but brief thanks to all of you for lighting your candles this evening and for your ongoing support at an unbelievably difficult time during which words are difficult to find. Tonight, and every minute of every day, we remember Kate, our beautiful soul who filled our lives with so much laughter, so many happy memories and gave us our treasure, Lucia, and we miss her every single day."
Kate McIver's Secret Weapon Serum has changed the confidence of so many people who have struggled with their skin, all of the people joined in with heartfelt messages, sharing how she had impacted their lives with her serums and have felt very much part of her challenging, honest journey.
Celebrities who love the Secret Weapon have become so fond of Kate too that many joined in lighting their candle and sharing to their followers enabling Kate's brave story to reach to millions of people. Models, Soap Stars, Top MUA's, Instagram Influencers, Reality Stars, Bloggers, Retailers, Radio Show hosts all made the remembrance burn bight and show how social media can be used for the good raising global awareness of a young lady who had everything to live for yet was robbed by the evil disease cancer..
Lisa Snowdon, Cara Kilby, ScouseMA Jessica Hayes, Gaby Roslin, Doll Beauty, Kenneth Soh MUA, Natasha Hamilton, Chloe Lewis, Steph Waring, Ross Adams to name a few..
Emotions were stirred, people took stock of what really is important, a lot of people took time to check their breasts for lumps and the majority thought about their own family and their loved ones they have lost to cancer.
Kate's legacy will live on, her skin care brand is going from strength to strength and her contribution to cancer awareness will continue to be at the heart of everything we do.

We speak on Kate's behalf because as most of you will know by now, our beautiful friend has passed on and we are endevouring to maintain Kate's wishes, which was to ensure her business legacy lives on for her beloved family..
We had planned to enjoy the moment when we told Kate she was in the MainOnline, if she didn't get to the article first that is..
Extra hands were organised to help manage orders, everyone volunteered to support as we all would do anything for her..
There was no definite guarantee but we remained very optimistic..
So we waited on Thursday for it to go live and it didn't..
Friday the same..
Saturday came and we woke up eagerly checking again and still nothing..
Then we were faced with the dreadful news that took all the wind out of our sails
Whilst walking around in a daze were alerted that ironically Kate's article was online..
Albeit we know this was absolutely what Kate wanted we felt a very bitter sweet feeling of absolute heartache and overwhelming sadness..
So now we feel the need to mark this occasion in her blog as a time stamp for this incredible achievement within Kate's remarkable career and for her thriving business.
This is what she would of wanted to happen..
It's a milestone that she dreamed of and believed would happen, along with stocking in Space NK, being in Cosmo, being used by Victoria Beckham and the Kardashians (every week this was something she spoke about) along with and more importantly to her, raising monies for young Cancer patients in a similar situation, the list was endless and well within the reach our Kate who had more tenacity and drive in her little finger than most in their whole body.
When we both looked at the potential opportunity for the brand being in the MailOnline, with it's daily avg unique browsers of circa 11,459,894 we both screamed with delight, and although Kate was feeling very poorly this news was the music she needed to hea..
Kate McIver and her team would like to thank all the fabulous team at the MailOnline, in particularly Femail team journalist Maisie Bovingdon and especially Liverpool Lady Ellie Phillips.
The night before Kate is laid to rest we will be lighting our Kate McIver candles as a mark of respect for the light she brought to everyones life.
This time will be arranged and shared in the next couple of days, if any one would like to join us that would be so incredible..
Kate's light will remain forever bright for all who were lucky enough to know her.

Well I never thought I would be downing my sister's breast milk rather than a cocktail at thirty to keep me alive!
This is by far the most bizarre thing this crazy disease has lead me to...
As you can imagine my family have been desperately researching how to keep me here.
Studies have show an enzyme in breast milk targets my type of cancer cells and breaks them down.
So, here I am drinking 3oz of my Sisters breast milk daily.
Jesus wept you literally couldn't write it..
You know when you think it makes so much sense... a women's body creates this potent formula to give her child and provide the best start in life, antibodies etc.
Imagine if a women could actually be responsible for killing cancer!
If anyones breast milk can F Cancer right off its my Sisters!!!
Love you Jane Cosstick it was delicious!
What the experts say -
The substance attacks cancer cells in numerous ways – first evading the cell’s outer defences, then targeting the ‘power station’ mitochondria and the ‘instruction manual’ nucleus. These actions cut off the cell’s energy source and ‘programme’ it to commit suicide, in a process called apoptosis.
