Are you going on a Skiing holiday this season? It is essential that your skincare routine is taken up a level as you challenge the slopes… We believe everyone should protect their skin barrier with the Secret Weapon Original Serum within these winter months.
Kate McIver Skin were featured in A&E Magazine this week alongside Louis Vuitton! We took care of the Skins Barrier, and they took care of the fashion! One of our fave Make-Up Artists Lisa Valencia used our Secret Weapon Original Serum on model Louisa Karayiannis.
Dry, chapped skin could ruin your Winter Holiday if you’re not careful. With harsh winds and freezing temperatures- your skin could become unrecognisable by the end of your holiday. When temperatures dip below 46° Fahrenheit (8° Celsius) the skins natural protective barrier is attacked and becomes thinner. On mountain peaks, the sun can be a sly villain, too, as extreme levels of UV are unforgiving on exposed areas of skin. Due to strong winds, we often don’t feel the burning of the sun. Therefore, SPF is non-negotiable on the slopes.
We recommend a 3-step formula for you to follow to ensure that your skins protective barrier stays intact.
1: Cleanse Your Skin With A Gentle Cleanser - we recommend our Secret Weapon Cleansing Balm. The balm uses two amazing repairing ingredients which will help the skin against harsh weather conditions.
Rose Canina is an important ingredient as it is enriched with Vitamin E and high levels of Phenolic Acids which soothe skin. The ingredient also fights pollution-induced oxidative stress. Evening Primrose Oil also helps protect the Skins Barrier as it addresses dryness, targets skin texture, and sustains skin elasticity.
2: Use A Hydrating Serum - we recommend our Secret Weapon Hyaluronic Kakadu Serum. Within the serum, there are two essential ingredients, Hyaluronic Acid and Kakadu Plum. With hyaluronic acid, an ingredient that pulls moisture from the air, and can hold 1,000 times its weight in water it is essential that your skin is moisturised from as deep into the skin barrier as possible. Kakadu Plum contains a high concentrate of Vitamin C- which targets Damaged Skin. The ingredient is Anti-Bacterial and Anti-Mutagenic.
3: Use A Facial Oil- If you are going to purchase one thing for your holiday. Make it our Secret Weapon Original Serum. This purchase will be as important as packing your Ski Jacket as Facial Oils work on strengthening the skin barrier - the outer layer - to minimise trans epidermal water loss. This keeps skin hydrated and plump, improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. All skin types, even oily ones, can benefit from facial oil. Contain antioxidants, vitamins, and essential fatty acids.
Are you confused about whether to use your facial oil before or after SPF?
Facial Oils should always be applied before SPF. If you have time, it is recommended that you wait at least 30 minutes before applying the SPF to ensure that your facial oil is completely settled into the skin. However, if you haven’t got time- SPF can be applied a couple of minutes after your oil.
