Kate McIver Skin have always worked so closely with the charity Make2ndsCount- as founder Lisa Fleming supported Kate so much throughout her journey with Secondary Breast Cancer, we are always over-joyed to work with them on any project we can.
As you will probably know, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is throughout October. Still, you might not know that Secondary Breast Cancer awareness is given just one day throughout October – Saturday 13th.
Secondary Breast Cancer is currently incurable, but it doesn’t stop these ladies from putting up a fight. Their fight is to make sure they raise awareness of what Secondary Breast Cancer is and ensure as much money as possible is going into research. They are fighting to be heard.

We are so happy to share that the photoshoot with Make2ndsCount on Sunday was extraordinary and went according to plan.

The location for the photoshoot is at Golden Gloves Boxing Gym in Toxteth, Liverpool. Golden Gloves is one of the most authentic boxing gyms that you could ever enter, many generations have passed through this gym from their opening in 1947- a community gym which has helped the lives of so many people. This is why we believe that this was the perfect location for our ladies to come together- as our gorgeous models are putting up a fight to be heard in their journey and at Kate McIver, we are standing with them. Huge thanks to Wayne owner of the gym who has worked with us to ensure that the site is ready for lights, camera, action.
Sane Seven, a duo who are categorized in the top 200 photographers in the world, coordinated the main campaign shot. Sane Seven have photographed so many influential people throughout the world including Jimmy Choo, Stuart Ford – Hollywood producer and many famous entrepreneurs and leaders in a range of different industries.

The final picture will be released on the 1st October of 20 stunning ladies fighting to be heard in their journey with Secondary Breast Cancer. The campaign shot will then be fired to the press with hard-hitting YouGov Stats to raise as much awareness as we possibly can.
We also welcome Jazamin a professional multidisciplinary artist, photographer, musician, film-maker & designer. What a collection of talented people to create something totally awesome.

During the preparation for this shoot, we sadly lost 2 of our models to Secondary Breast Cancer.
Hatti Gaynor, presenter, dancer, and much-loved, positive and inspiring human being with a massive following in the Secondary Breast Cancer community. A finalist on BBC The Greatest Dancer, she inspired so many people throughout her secondary-breast cancer diagnosis, sharing on her social media platforms. She will be missed by so many.
On the day two local girls danced their winning number from Funky Feet in her memory..

Heather Bone, a beautiful, strong and lovely woman, also sadly passed away. She also had a massive following on her social media platforms and was loved by so many and supported many on a similar journey. Alison Hammond paid tribute to Heather after her passing on Good Morning last week; she met Heather when she appeared on her doorstep after being selected for ‘Dosh on your Door Step.’
There are so many people/businesses teaming up together to make this shoot so successful and to raise as much awareness as possible- without them none of this would have been possible! The brands that are working with us on the shoot are close to our hearts and the charities hearts.
One of the current leading lash-brands in the UK, Lola’s Lashes, are also teamed up with Kate McIver Skin & Make 2nds Count and they donated lashes for all the ladies to wear in the shoot. LolasLashes have a very special connection to the charity Make2ndsCount, as Lisa Fleming- founder of Make2ndsCount- found out about the brand due to one of Lisas Cancer Nurses- being the mum of Fraser Angus- founder of Lola’s Lashes. They are also donating £1 per order from 1st to 13th October to Make 2nds Count. Lauren and Sarah were here to support the shoot during the day.

Ann Summers kindly gifted all ladies with dressing gowns how generous!!
Doll Beauty are a very close brand to Kate McIver Skin. Danielle and Sam who are founders of Doll Beauty always supported our Kate, Kate McIver, through her diagnosis and journey. They also gave her so much help when launching her own skincare brand and everything that the brand has done.
Doll Beauty also provided all of the ladies with the most gorgeous goody bags which included make-up and make-up brushes so they are able to glam themselves up at home.
